Kitchen appliances play really big role in the kitchen. Don’t you hide everything you can in your kitchen because it does not have style? You buy your appliances on sale, or you get it as presents. When I do style kitchens at the end of the design process, homeowners are afraid to show anything because their appliances are not looking good. But things change nowadays. Big firms want you to buy their appliances because it’s nice and it doesn’t ruin your home decor. Let’s take a look at my favourite kitchen appliances brands SMEG and collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana.
As we know, Italians are crazy about food. They value every meal and its preparation must be taken seriously. That’s why Smeg and Dolce & Gabbana teamed up again for the kitchen appliances collection “Sicily is my love”, inspired by amazing and colourful Sicilian folk art. It includes toasters, citrus juicers, coffee machines, kettles, blenders, stand mixers and slow juicers. “The appliances are covered in delicate floral motifs and images of the enthralling Mount Etna, surrounded by ornamental friezes, and decorative acanthus leaves”, states Dolce&Gabbana.com.
Sicilian folk art reminds me of Russian folf art, I remember it from my life in Moscow. Folk painting on wood (Khokhloma in Russian) are so similar! Lots of flowers, leaves and red hues. These appliances would also perfectly fit in a wooden house or summer residence! If you want to buy it for Christmas, you should wait until the end of this year. It should be already in shops.
If you want more inspiration, here are refrigerators created earlier by the same D&G and Smeg. Hand painted, every fridge tells a different story. Would you guess the price of each? 🙂
